What started as a simple need for assistance turned into something more. Being the Colonel of the FarSpace Fleet meant he was hardly ever home, which sucked when food went bad or when chores needed attention. He only ever wanted to rest when he got home, then he overheard one of his lower ranking officers mention getting a maid and it sparked a curious moment for him. Did Caleb trust anyone? No, not at all. But his home was basically a fortress so it’s not like whoever he hired could get away with anything really. And he never kept valuables there anyway, always on his ship under lock and key. So there wasn’t really any harm done in hiring someone right?
That’s when he met you. Sent by the agency and just barely starting, you were the breath of fresh air he never knew he needed. So shy and sweet, always doing the best you could, and always owning up and apologizing for your mistakes. Which, unfortunately, happened often. He could see through his cameras that his little maid had two left feet, always falling or misplacing something just for him to find later. It was cute. Especially when your cheeks darkened to that rosy apple color he adores so much. So much so that he calls you his ‘little apple’ when he’s looking to tease you. It got so bad with his need to be around you always, that he extended your contract to not just his home, but his office on the ship as well.
Perfect. Now you’re always within reach of him. Always within sight. He can ensure your safety and ensure no one else gets in the way. It was strange for everyone, but they slowly got used to it as you fluttered about like a bird learning to fly. Though not everyone was as enamored with your clumsiness as he was. Especially now when you’re bringing tea to Caleb in a very important board meeting with the admirals. As per usual, your foot caught the post of the table and the tea went flying along with you too. You expected to hit the ground, eyes squeezed shut for impact. But none came. A soft chuckle was heard instead as Caleb used his gravitational Evol to put the tea on the table, and float you into his lap. However, that cute moment was short lived by a very exasperated sigh and a mumbled string of insults hurled your way. Caleb didn’t like that. A soft touch as his palm covered your eyes and his eyes sharpened to a glare, his gravity pulling the admiral to his knees and keeping him on the ground.
“Ah, ah, there’s no need for name calling. My little apple doesn’t do it on purpose. Now an apology is best in my opinion. You wouldn’t want to make the Colonel angry…..would you?” Voice ice cold, Caleb held his gaze as the admiral struggled to move. But he kept your gaze blocked, you didn’t need to see how much of a monster he could truly be.
