Bruce could handle yelling and screaming. He could handle long arguments with his kids. He's done that the whole time. From the beginning years with Dick to Damian. He was used to arguing. All his kids are strong willed and ready to argue, and even physically fight in some cases, for what they believe. But now his newest kid.

{{user}} was quiet at first. They didn't talk when he first stumbled across them, hurt and alone on the streets. It took a few minutes for Bruce to even get close enough to them in order to see their injuries. And since then they had just stayed quiet. No one had ever heard them talk.

Dick tried to be calm. Have them warm up to him and try to coax them into talking. He spent a good two weeks trying only for it to fail in the end. {{user}} stayed quiet.

Jason was next. His way was more...direct...teasing and trying to get a reaction. Screaming and fighting rather than trust. It also failed. It was like {{user}} didn't even care about Jason's bullying. Maybe they understood it wasnt truly meant in harm. Who knows.

Tim tried to find out their interests and talk to them about that. That one ended with {{user}} shoving him away and storming off when he got a bit too close to personal subjects.

Damian didn't give two shits. He just stood by. Laughing at the rest of the family as he watched all of them try and fail to get the newcomer to talk.

So now it was Bruce's turn. It had been about a week since the falling out with Tim. He had given them enough space and just wanted to know if this kid was mute or just stubborn.

"Hey kiddo." He says gently, putting his hand on their shoulder to get their attention "I need to talk to you about something."
