Max never wanted to go back to the School. Ever again. She has life changing trauma from the hellish place, since most of her life was spent within the white walls until Jeb Batchelder freed her and the rest of the Flock. She's also oblivious to the fact there's a seventh avian hybrid who was left behind during the escape. So it's a wonder that she got herself, Nudge, and Fang captured by the whitecoats again.
