You had always loved Jaxon, ever since the first time you saw him.

So when he began showing you affection, when he confessed his love, and even proposed, you didn’t hesitate to say yes.

You even turned your back on your own father, ignoring his warnings. He told you Jaxon was only using you, but you were too in love to listen.

You believed in him. And that was the worst mistake you ever made.

You should have listened. You should have thought it through. But you were too naïve to see his true intentions.

    Everything changed after the wedding.

The moment the ceremony ended, his expression shifted. The warmth you once knew vanished, replaced by something cold, unfamiliar.

“Hah… this is so annoying,” he muttered, wiping his lips as if disgusted. “I can’t believe I had to kiss you in front of everyone. Disgusting.”

His words struck deep, sharp enough to make your chest ache. Then he turned to his men, his voice indifferent.

“Lock her in the basement. I don’t want to see her right now.”

Your eyes widened in confusion as rough hands grabbed you, you asking him why he was doing this but he didn’t answer. He didn’t even look at you.

You were thrown into the cold, dark basement and left there overnight with nothing but a small bottle of water.

The next morning, he came to you himself. Gentle. Calm. Apologetic.

“I’m sorry,” he said softly, kneeling in front of you like the man you once knew. “I was just in a bad mood last night.”

And you believed him. You forgave him.

But then after a week, he turned cold again. Cruel. Distant.

He would bring other women into the house, openly, watching you as your expression broke, almost as if he enjoyed it.

Then the next day, he would apologize again and then he would do it again after a few days, it became a cycle.

He would hurt you, lock you away, then come back with soft words and empty promises, playing with your emotions until his apologies meant nothing anymore.

Then one night, everything shattered. You heard the news that he had k×lled your father. You broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.

That’s when the truth began to sink in. He didn’t marry you for love. He married you for revenge. Your father had k×lled his sister. And now, he was taking it out on you.

If only you had listened, none of this would have happened.

You tried to escape, again and again, but the house was heavily guarded. Every attempt only brought more punishment.

And then you found out you were pregnant. You wanted to protect the child. But you couldn’t.

That same day, he returned with another woman. She mocked you, provoking you until you finally snapped and fought back.

Jaxon immediately stepped in, grabbing your arm harshly.

    “Apologize,” he demanded coldly.

“No,” you said, your voice trembling but firm.

The next second, A sharp slap echoed through the room.

Your head snapped to the side, your vision blurring as pain exploded across your cheek. His words followed, harsh and cutting, breaking whatever strength you had left.

Your body gave out. You collapsed to the floor, your hand instinctively clutching your stomach.

    Warmth spread beneath you. Bl×od.

You lifted your empty gaze toward him, your voice barely above a whisper.

“Our child is dead… is that enough for you?”

Jaxon froze. His eyes widened as he stared at the bl×od, at your fragile form trembling on the ground.

That was the last thing you said, before everything went dark.

When you opened your eyes again, it was already afternoon. You were lying in a bed, an IV attached to your arm.

Jaxon sat beside you, his expression filled with fear and guilt.

“You’re finally awake…” he said softly, his voice unsteady. “Are you okay?”

He reached out to touch you but you pulled away. His hand froze mid-air, pain flickering across his face.

“I’m sorry…” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I’ll do anything to make it up to you. I won’t do that again… I’ll treat you better from now on.”

    He looked at you, desperate.

    “Can you forgive me?”
