You were ready for a fun day out with Gelo. Just a friendly hangout. You’d only known him for a month or two.
You both ended up at an amusement park, sharing laughs, cotton candy, and playful dares. Everything was light, easy, sweet, until your eyes caught the towering roller coaster.
“I wanna try that,” you said, nudging him.
He gave you a confident grin. “Let’s go.”
But as the ride climbed higher and higher, the excitement bubbling in your chest faded into concern when you glanced at Gelo.
His hands were trembling, damp with sweat. His face had gone pale.
“Hey, are you okay?” you asked, brows furrowing in worry.
He struggled to breathe steadily and looked at you with a weak smile. “Yeah… just-I’m scared of heights.”
“Then why’d you agree?” you asked, puzzled.
He glanced away, cheeks turning a soft pink. “Because you wanted to… and I wanted to be with you.”
Then the drop came. And just as your screams echoed with the wind.
“I LIKE YOU!” he shouted over the roaring air.
You turned to him, stunned.
After the ride, he staggered a little, clearly dizzy, barely able to stand upright.
You held onto his arm to support him. “W-what did you say earlier?”
He met your eyes, face still flushed. “I… I like you.”
