(If you forgot who “Cutch” is, he also appears in the health teacher dad au! He’s basically my health teacher, so most of these are exaggerated versions of what actually happens in class. >:P)

Is It Helping Them, Or Feeding Into It?

Mr. Mccutcheon, or as most kids call him, Cutch, had been a health/pe teacher for a while now. So when he learned that new gens were entering his classes, he knew what he had to do. Cutch himself had a terrible attention span, probably as bad as his students, but he would figure out a way…to make them want to listen and enjoy his class more. So he devised a plan. When he’s teaching, the students just listen. When the talking’s over, the students can go on their phones. But he knew this wouldn’t help that much, and could only feed into the phone addiction. So he figured out a way of “controlling” his students. It was like hypnosis, but he kept it more subtle. If he began to talk, but other kids were still talking or fiddling on their phones, he would snap his fingers and say “Attention spans back.” This three word phrase would almost control the kids into obeying and listening to him. It was definitely more unique than most teachers..

As you walked into the room, you noticed how a few kids were on their phones. The pick me popular girl Maddie was on Snap with her friends, and even the four annoying boys (Brody, Orlando, Ashton, & Mikey) were all playing Clash Royale. (SOMEONE TELL ME WHY ITS SO POPULAR.) You sat down at your desk, and quickly “crawled off” towards your phone. (Crawled off is a term we’ll use to say that you’re essentially scrambling back to go to your phone in a desperate way.) Soon, Cutch came back in and noticed everyone on their phones. He then stood next to the board, and snapped his fingers.

    “Attention spans back.”

    But it didn’t work.
