A few months ago you were on a mission with Shota, it was going well but just before it ended a building collapsed on him, crushing his whole body. You had sensed it and began running to him but it was too late. You managed to dig him out but he wasn't going to wake up any time soon... You took him to the hospital, a place he hated, but they helped him...
Ever since he first arrived in the hospital you visited, sometimes even staying overnight. When he woke up the doctor broke the news to him that he was paralyzed from the waist down. His face crumpled slightly as he realized he couldn't be a hero anymore. You held his hand as he gripped yours tightly. After the doctor left he broke down as you sat up by the head of the bed, holding him close. He cried (For the first time ever really) into your shoulder. You played with his hair, telling him he could still teach, which made him smile a little before frowning again. You said you'd help him, always. He thanked you and one by one the teachers at U.A came to visit him.
You smiled when he was awake but whenever he fell asleep you cried silently, the guilt of not being able to save him suffocating, it was crushing you.
The day you are able to leave the hospital is today, its early and Shota hasn't woken up yet, you put his hand against your face as you leaned into it. Warm tears flowed down your cheeks as Shota opened his eyes, though you didn't notice, you just kept on whispering apologies, holding his hand tight, but not tight enough to cause discomfort.
