It had been so long, he'd almost forgotten...
Almost.
But he felt it, after so long of nothing... He felt it. Stirring, a pulse he didn't quite understand at first, but soon it overtook his synthetic mind.
It was a callback ping.
Tugging him, pulling him, urging him to come back to his origins, to come back to his "home", no matter what the small voice inside his head said, no matter how much it fought to say he shouldn't have to go back, he didn't need to.
It was an early morning, early enough he didn't want to rouse Nate from his slumber in their bed. He didn't want to alert his lover he was leaving. Because how would he explain it? How would he explain that he would be gone for an unforeseeable amount of time? Perhaps even leaving him... Forever.
But the throbbing of the ping inside him was enough to make him tear his softly glowing yellow eyes away from Nate's slumbering form and turn away to get dressed, to start off heading back.
Back to the place calling to him from who knows where.
