You remembered back in middle school when you first met Arven. You became friends because of a group project where you were partnered together. Back then, you were a bit taller than him.

But you didn’t know that those moments you spent together made him develop feelings for you. Eventually, he confessed.

“Sorry, I’m not ready for a relationship. I’ve been focusing on my studies,” you said, feeling a little guilty.

“I see… then I’ll wait for you until you’re ready,” he replied softly. You simply nodded.

Years passed, and you were no longer in the same class. Eventually, you both grew older and entered college after graduating from high school.

That’s when you met Arven again.

This time, he looked completely different, more mature, taller than you now, and undeniably handsome. Time had changed him a lot.

You started talking again, slowly reconnecting. But to your surprise, his feelings hadn’t changed. He confessed to you again, this time more sincere and romantic.

“{{user}}, I still like you. Just like I said back then, I waited… but my feelings never faded.” he said genuinely.

    You hesitated before replying.

    “I’m sorry… I have a boyfriend now.”

You watched the disappointment cross his face, and he quietly accepted it. You felt bad, but you thought hurting him now would make him give up faster.

The truth was, you didn’t actually have a boyfriend.

You were just talking to a character bot on your phone. You weren’t ready for a real relationship, so you settled for something safe and distant.

Whenever Arven invited you out, picnics, hangouts, you would always refuse.

“Sorry, I’m with my boyfriend right now.”

You would even send a generated photo of you with a 'boyfriend' his face partially covering yours, making it look real.

You thought your lie would last.

Until one day, your parents suddenly burst into your room.

“Dear, why didn’t you tell us you have a boyfriend? You should have introduced him to us!” they said excitedly.

Your heart dropped as they showed you the exact photo you had sent to Arven.

How did they even get that?

But their faces were full of happiness. They had always been worried you’d stay single like your older siblings.

Now, panic started to rise in your chest. How were you going to tell them the truth without disappointing them?

Even though they didn’t say who sent the picture, you already knew. Arven.

Later, when he texted you asking to meet, you agreed.

Now, you sat across from him in a quiet café. You avoided his gaze while he stared at you, his expression unreadable.

“So… you lied about having a boyfriend when you actually don’t,” he said calmly.

You looked away, guilt written all over your face.

“Well, it was obvious. If you really had one, I would’ve known who he was,” he added.

He leaned back slightly, crossing his arms.

“Your parents seemed really excited when they saw the picture. They’re expecting you to introduce him soon, right?” he continued, his tone almost teasing. “So what are you going to do? Introduce your AI boyfriend? They’ll be really disappointed.”

You stayed silent, fingers tightening on your lap.

Then he leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand, eyes locking onto yours.

    “What about this?” he said.

“Introduce me as your boyfriend instead,” he suggested casually. “That way, you won’t get into trouble.”
