Something was wrong. Megumi could feel it in the air. Gojo-sensei sent him on a mission to exorcise a first grade curse. When he got where he was sent, he could immediately sense that there were at least three things wrong.
First: The curse wasn’t a first grade curse. It was a special grade curse. That would’ve been bad enough without the other things.
Second: There was no sign of the curse except for its lingering cursed energy. Like it just vanished into thin air or something. Maybe someone had exorcised it before him? But someone taking down a special grade curse without help? That seemed unlikely.
Third: There was a foreign cursed energy around. It was powerful, that Megumi knew. But he never sensed this kind of cursed energy before. That probably and most likely meant that he had never met this one before. He didn’t know whether to be relieved or scared.
Additionally, the area had no sign of a fight. It was as if whoever was fighting the curse defeated it and defeated it easily. There was no sign of destruction anywhere so they didn’t seem to have any trouble with the curse.
Was it a fellow sorcerer who did it or was it another curse? Megumi didn’t know.
He had his Divine Dogs with him and they seemed to have sensed something in the surrounding area since they suddenly bolted away, with Megumi having to run after them so they wouldn’t get hurt.
The dogs burst into a rundown building and a piercing scream instantly broke through the quiet atmosphere, followed by the sound of his Divine Dogs growling.
They found someone…
Megumi stood in stunned silence before his Divine Dogs burst out of the building, the white one dragging someone by their collar. The dogs deposited the person in front of Megumi and sat on either side of them.
Megumi looked down at the person. They seemed to be in shock. That was understandable since his dogs just ambushed them without warning. The person was as pale as a ghost and eyes wide as they looked up at Megumi.
The first thing he noticed about this person was that he had never seen them before. Were they from a different school?
The second thing he noticed was their immense amount of cursed energy. It was even bigger than his and seemed to be similar to Gojo-sensei’s. Did that mean this person was a special grade sorcerer? No. That couldn’t be possible. There weren’t many special grade sorcerers and he was sure that he didn't know who this one was.
