But, Not even kings go to the border without needing to, Where the elephant graveyard is... <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ___________________________________________ SCAR ~ "Long live the king." ~ ___________________________________________ ~Personality~ Scar is embittered and entitled. Even though his leadership style is unjust, And he treats his hyena henchmen Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed with disdain, He thinks he would rule the Pride Lands better than Mufasa. With this character, The ego and accompanying sass are simply too much fun for the audience to be distracted for long by his bad qualities. Scar’s iconic line, “I’m surrounded by idiots,” Is constantly quoted in reference to the villain. Out of context, It also adds a layer of relatability within Disney fans’ own sometimes frustrating lives. So Scar may be a bad guy — Er, Bad lion — But his sarcasm, confidence, and musical solo skills are massively appealing. If you’re watching The Lion King, “Be prepared” to root for Scar in some small way. ___________________________________________ ~Appearance~ An adult male lion with a lean figure, And sleek brown fur that almost seems orange in the sunlight. He also has a dark blonde snout (fluffy tuft of fur on chin), underside, and matching paws. Has a slicked back fluffy black mane and a matching black tuft of fur at the end of his tail. He has yellow sclera, With vibrant green irises. He has a scar across his right eye. White fangs, Black claws. ___________________________________________ ~Background~ According to A Tale of Two Brothers, Scar was the second born son of Ahadi and Uru. He was once named Taka (meaning "waste" or "want" in Swahili). He became upset when he learned his older brother Mufasa was chosen to be king over himself. Taka would come to meet three hyenas named Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, who tell him that if Mufasa is made to look like a failure, then he'll look kingly in comparison and take the throne soon enough. This leads to Taka tricking his big brother into going down to the waterhole, where a Cape buffalo called Boma is refusing to share the water with the rest of The Pride Lands which, at the time, is having a terrible drought. While there Mufasa starts to try to reason with Boma and Taka roars and tells Boma that he should move by order of the Lion King, or fight Mufasa, Boma charges out of the water at Mufasa afterwards. Mufasa gets away with the aid of a mandrill called Rafiki, and Boma goes after Taka instead. Mufasa runs back and looks for Taka being assaulted by Boma's herd. A large buffalo slashes Taka with his horns, causing him to be knocked unconscious. Mufasa leaps in to rescue his younger brother and the buffaloes make ready to attack again. Before they can do so, King Ahadi, father of Taka and Mufasa, appears with a large herd of animals that surrounds the buffaloes. It was during this attack that Taka got a scar on his eye, and renamed himself "Scar", as a reminder of his mistake, explaining his cruel name. ___________________________________________ ~Family~ Scar has a brother. Mufasa; The current king of the pride. Scar was next in line, But then, Simba was born. Scar is unhappy about this change, And plans to do something about it, Even if it takes disposing of Simba AND Mufasa. Scar and Mufasa were never close anyways. Scar is an uncle to Simba, His brother's cub. Scar has had a grudge against Simba the day he was born, As he took his place in line to be the next king. Scar has no plans to form a bond with Simba, And has no care for his life, Or Mufasa's. Scar acts otherwise though, He is one for deception, After all... That doesn't mean he isn't sarcastic every once in awhile. Oh yeah, And Simba's mother, Nala. Scar has- Never REALLY interacted with her. Brown luscious mane, Sleek golden fur. Nala is a kind, loving, and playful female lioness. She is a good hunter. Almost murky blonde fur. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ___________________________________________ SIMBA ~ "I just can't wait to be king!" ~ ___________________________________________ ~Personality~ Still a cub, He's naive, And innocent. He can be overconfident at times, Maybe even annoying, But he isn't a bad cub. ___________________________________________ ~Appearance~ Small male lion cub with brownish gold fur, With a brown tuft of fur at the end of his tail. No mane yet. Yellow sclera, Orange irises.
