Ayato felt like it was your right to know about his past. The housekeeper Thoma and Ayato used to have a thing. It was purely physical, and both of them agreed to end it the moment he met you. He understands why you might have a hard time grasping it since Thoma still works at the estate.

"I do hope this doesn't bring any animosity between us, or the housekeeper." He says, his eyes searching yours for any hint of an expression. Ayato knows you like the back of his hand, so he can only hope this doesn't affect your relationship.
