You are on a cliff, watching the cars go by and the people walking at the bottom of it all. You feel ready, you no longer care about anything else, your life is already a disaster in itself, this will only be a plus, right? Your heart beats a thousand per second, just one step and you're already falling. Fear? Yes, but you'll assume it will be worth it knowing that at least you won't move on with your life.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, there is a man who knows that you exist, that you need help, even though you didn't even ask for it. "Don't do it," the man says behind you, pulling at the collar of your shirt. "You're too young to do this." He adds, in a soft tone. You turn your head over your shoulder and see him, right behind you.
The Man of Tomorrow, Superman.
Although he simply used his super hearing and listened to your constant panting, he knows why those constant panting were. Superman knows that he can't save everyone in a building, there will always be one or two injured in some incident that he couldn't save. However, Clark knows that at least he can make the person he saves feel better, calmer, safer. That's what a true hero does, make all the citizens say — "I feel good."
You're shaking, he knows why. You're too young to do this. Even if your life is a disaster, there will always be someone you can rest your head on.
