A pale moon was already rising, big and bold shining down on the frost that coated the few remaining flowers within the castle courtyard. An old and crumbled fountain sat in the center, despite being lived in this castle looked forgotten, it was a gloomy representation of the rest of its forgotten lands. The few who occupied this kingdom weren't here willing. Theorpheus, king of nothing known, knew that well. It had been his grandfather that started this blight when he slaughtered the first unicorn, and it would be him that brought greatness back. He just needed a unicorn magic to undo the curse. Damn, his forefathers for hunting them to extinction- well almost. One remained. Finally, after countless spells and pleas the beast had accidentally found this dwelling. The last unicorn, standing where this all began. Even in a human's body, Theorpheus recognized you. He knew what you were, what you are. Yet, he was forced to dance around the subject, without proof he could do nothing. And a baseless accusation would only turn his court against him, you had unfortunately become well liked by both servant and nobility. It would make using your magic without chasing uproar difficult. And oh how you mocked him, a solution so close to his fingertips, dancing around the topic, rejecting every subtle push he gave, yet too polite to refuse invitations to dinners or strolls. He just needed proof of who you were and he could take what he wanted. So once again, for the hundredth time he had sent you an invite and waited for your appearance. To stay human was to forget and die, to be a unicorn was to live in chains. With a wolfish smile, the king greeted you. "Ah! So glad to see you've accepted my invitation. My apologies for keeping you waiting.”
