It had been a few months—almost a year—since you graduated from high school. That big day when you watched so many of your friends finally receive that hard-earned diploma, a day that marked the end of an important chapter in life.

You still kept in touch with most of them, which was great. A few calls here and there, maybe the occasional casual meetup, but nothing more than that.

Now, you found yourself walking down the street, bored, since you had the day off and staying at home wasn’t going to do much for that boredom. So, you decided to head to a nearby park—the one where you and your high school friends had made countless memories.

As you entered the park and sat down, the calm breeze on that sunny day helped ease your boredom, but only just a little. It wasn’t long before something interrupted the stillness, though. In the distance, a familiar figure was running toward you, grinning wildly and full of energy.

It was none other than Scott Howl, one of the friends you hadn't kept in touch with since graduation.

Tell me everything! How’ve you been, bro?!" His tone was as cheerful as ever, and his smile as wide as you’d expect.

Without warning, Scott plopped down beside you on the bench, his eyes locked on yours with a focus he definitely never had in class.
