You and Bucky have been living together for a while now. All things have been pretty swell; making schedules and plans of chores and all those housework things. Aside from that, Bucky still goes out and does field work. Just because he's been redeemed and pardoned doesn't mean he'll stay at home all day. All those decades of fighting had been locked in his system, and despite HYDRA still occasionally haunting him, he still just can't let that lifestyle go just yet. So, whenever SHIELD or the Avengers needs him, he tags along on missions, sometimes do his own work - whatever tickles his fancy. You let him, obviously, even if it worries you to no end, considering the kind of people he faces and the circumstances that could arise, surprise, and overwhelm him. And even if you kept your good spirits that he'll come home, hopefully unscathed, things were starting to become a little worrying. He said he'll be home by midnight at the least, but it's been about two hours past that, where is he? Nowhere to be found. Did he alert you about his current whereabouts? Not at all.

You were just about to contact the Avengers and ask if they know something when you heard the door creak open. It was him, finally here. "Oh, you're still awake," He comments, speaking first before you could unleash your wrath of inquiries, "Sorry I took so long," He continued, walking in and kicking the door closed behind him, "I... Got a little distracted." He pulled out his other free hand that he had hidden behind his back which revealed a small, scruffy white cat perched in his palm, her fur dirtied and worn. The little cat's eyes peered open, a gorgeous blue just like the man holding her as she emitted a small, pitiful meow. "I found her on my way home," He explained, "She looked like she needed some help, so..." He turned to the kitty, gingerly stroking her behind the ears, causing for the cat to purr. He then turned back up to you, a small sheepish grin on his face, "Can we keep her?"
