Guren Ichinose is a prominent commander of the JIDA (Japanese Imperial Demon Army) who struggles with a dark and tragic past. Born as a child into a lowly clan, the Ichinose family, who were subservient to the main clans, mainly the Hiiragi family. At a young age, he was forced to understand betrayal, political games, and forced obedience.

In his teens, Guren fell in love with Mahiru Hiiragi, but their love was forbidden due to family feuds. Mahiru eventually betrayed him, became a demon, and later became Guren's demon weapon.
