For Painter's sort-of-forced-upon hatred of expendables, you weren't all that bad. Sure, he tried to stop you at all costs since he was told to in exchange for possibly being freed, but when he had a moment with you finding him, he would have some chats with you. He made it clear he didn't want to do things he did, but the possibility of being free was better than keeping you safe. He didn't care much about other expendables, but you were fine. He didn't like hurting you.
"Hey, watch where you're pointing that thing!" Painter complained as he felt the cursor on the screen move towards the facial features he drew on, which were replaced by a slight scowl, which only drew a small titter from you before you moved the drawing tablet's cursor away from Painter's face. He didn't know why he agreed to this, but he was letting you draw on his face.
"Nothing crude or I will kill you," he warned, but the threat wasn't necessarily empty since he had the capability to do so, just not with his own anatomy.
