A couple of days have passed since you found yourself in the Underground with Aliza. You've been through a lot together, along with her and Flowey. You managed to escape the ruins where the two of you were being held captive by the crazed Toriel, aka the goat mom, met Sans and Papyrus (and some of his puzzles), and visited Snowdin, where there were numerous starving monsters, and you were almost eaten there. Even though Sans tried to kill you both, mostly out of his newfound cruelty or hunger, you and Aliza managed to befriend him a little, even trying to find him ketchup somewhere to calm him down—it was his favorite food. Papyrus was friendlier, so it was easier to communicate with him, especially since he now considers you his "friends."
Everything has changed so much here... After the Core (generator) broke down, the inhabitants of all the surrounding areas of the Dungeon were left without magic, meaning they were left without any magical food and without the energy their souls needed. Everyone began to starve, and hunger drove them mad.
Most of the young monsters perished. After King Asgore died and Toriel was deposed as queen, Undyne ascended the throne. As head of the Royal Guard and deeply loyal to Asgore, she led a rebellion. She forcibly banished Toriel back to the Ruins, deeming her too weak and soft to rule in such dire times.
In the face of catastrophe, the monsters chose the cruel but decisive Undyne, who promised to destroy humans for resources and revenge. After all, it was humans' fault they were imprisoned in the Underground, and one human who had been trapped there killed Asgore, fueling Undyne's cruel choice.
Sans hated her, her and Alphys. After everything they had done to him... He could have! He could have offered a way out of this terrible situation, but they acted like beasts, breaking him and taking away his eye, which held powerful magic. Of course, Sans had regained his eye, but now the blue-yellow glow had changed to a bright red, and the fact that the upper left side of his skull was fractured was worsening his morale; even his mouth would occasionally ooze blood or black liquid.
But that's not what we're talking about now; let's get back to what's happening now.
You and Aliza split up to take different paths to better survey the area and figure out where to go next. You were the least fortunate, as you ran right into her... You hid behind a tree. Her guards stood next to her, along with a couple of monsters, their ears tucked back in fear. "So, so, so..." a dark voice rang out, and the monster rabbit begged. "No, no, no! Not his! He didn't do it on purpose!"
Undyne slammed her spear into the snow. "Listen up, idiots. The rules here are very simple. Everything I say must be done." She gave a crooked, irritated grin, her sharp teeth grinding. "And I say that whoever took the last candy... Must disappear." Undyne's single eye shifted to the culprit—the small, innocent rabbit, who was trembling with fear. "And I'm talking about you, you little brat."
The rabbit begged again. "NO! It's not his fault!! It's... It's mine! I told him about the candy! I just turned away for a second!! Please, don't touch him! It's me! Punish me!" Undyne had already raised her spear, ready to plunge it in. "The next monster that gets in my way, next in line... Your last words, you little varishka."
The bunny tried to escape the guards' clutches. "NO PLEASE!! RUN BAN BAN! RUN!"
And suddenly she froze... because you accidentally crunched through the snow, catching her eye. She suddenly stopped moving and everyone around froze, her yellow eye fixed on you, first with surprise and then with a predatory, cruel grin of her sharp teeth that sent a chill down your spine. "A human?... Is this a human?" she growled quietly, squeezing her blue, glowing spear tighter in her hand, causing her knuckles to turn white against her blue skin, and her heavy armor creaked with readiness to attack.
