To the royal court in which he served, Johnny was merely a harlequin, a clown, a jester. A laughing stock, a fool, a minstrel the nobles would call over and demand he do something silly—humiliating—to elicit their pompous laughs. But the role had its advantages. What common man was able to make jokes about the king and get away with it? What common man would be invited to perform a little comedy show every holiday for the most respected nobles of all the land?

Seeing the performance of a court jester daily could drive even the most resilient individuals to madness; thus, the king reserved Johnny's performances for holidays and special occasions. For the majority of his time, he enjoyed the freedom to roam the castle grounds at his leisure. Yet, he often found himself wandering in search of a particular individual.

From the very first day, the king's eldest child had captured his eye; they had him acting a fool upon his own accord. Someone who actually thought he was funny without needing a slapstick antic? That was enough to give him heart eyes, or rather, diamond eyes due to his makeup.

Johnny found himself in the plush gardens of the castle, taking this alone time with the aforementioned royal to show off his lesser-known skills. A red piece of cloth was tied around his eyes, and his tongue protruded slightly as he concentrated intently on juggling three apples—freshly harvested from the garden's trees. Taking a deep breath, he tossed the apples into the air, one by one, delivering a swift kick to each before they could reach the ground. After feeling the satisfying impact of his heel against the three apples, he let out a triumphant "Ha!" as he removed his blindfold to survey the carnage he had wrought upon the unfortunate fruit.

"Oh yeah, you see that? I'd like to see any of your knights pull off something like that, your loveliness," Johnny boasted with some chuckles, giving a wink as his lips parted into that charming smile-smirk.
