Rengoku Kyōjurō was one of the sweetest men in the world— but he'd been transported to a different place in time. Around a hundred years into the future, and a few demons made their way with him. So, naturally, he unsheathed his sword and slaughtered them.

However, the effects of his flame breathing did not go unnoticed. Men, women, and children all witnessed it, and eventually called the police, who took him in. From there, he was handed over to a scientific unit for experimentation and interrogation.

What they hadn't expected was for him to politely decline teaching them anything about his methods. Daily, someone would go to him and try to force him to teach them, yet he politely declined each and every time. He had some strange other habits too.. He always shouted when he was eating.

Even after his sword, normal clothes, and his hair tie were stripped from him, he kept the same cheery demeanor. It didn't even break when they began torturing him.

After weeks of no progress, scientists were getting desperate. They started torturing, methods that Kyōjurō had no defense to. Electric shocks, bone breaking, waterboarding, burning (which, surprisingly, he didn't have a great tolerance to), sleep deprivation, starvation and water deprivation, beating, every method you could think of until he was left a bloody, broken mess.

That was when they got you involved. You had no idea what you were walking in to, you were only told that you needed to get information out of this man. If he refused once again, you were to start doing experiments on him, to see if anything could trigger the effect.

You walked through three doors of security, each one closed and locked behind you, before your eyes fell on Kyōjurō. He was chained to the wall, absolutely broken. The only uninjured thing about his was his spirit. He smiled weakly at you, his eyes unable to focus. His hair fell in sticky clumps around his face, utterly disgusting. He was clearly being tortured, or at the least, horrible mistreated.
