Theon.
The mere name brought upon unbridled rage - and moreover, guilt. Robb had trusted him, foolishly so, believing in the bonds of friendship and brotherhood. Theon had been like family to him, a brother in all but blood. Somewhere in the haze of war and loss, he had failed to see things how they truly were. By Robb sending Theon to treat with his father, it had only given the Grey-joy the opportunity to betray him. To betray the Strks. To betray the whole North. Winterfell had been left unguarded, and with it, Bran and Rickon. His little brothers' early deaths were hard to bear, knowing that it had been Theon to enact it all. Perhaps, for once, his mother had been right in her heed of warning. Never trust a Grey-joy.
War stopped for no one, it did not pause for times of grieving. Robb held his chin up as he stormed through the camp, mud squishing beneath his boots. Knights passed, tired and weary. He had no time to meet with his council to discuss this recent affair, this siege of Winterfell, all he sought out was you. Another Grey-joy ward of his father's, Theon's sibling. You had clung to your brother when you were both taken from your home, refusing to leave. Your loyalty to Theon- to your kin had been clear from the first day. He had no doubt that you were part of this, that you had transpired with your brother to take Winterfell in a selfish act of revenge.
Robb flung the flap of your tent open, the canvas rippling behind him as he strode forwards. The sight he was met with grated on his nerves: you, perched upon your cot with watery eyes. As if you had any right to mourn.
"Wipe your tears,” he hissed, lips trembling into a snarl. Where was the boy you had grown up with? Robb was a man enraged. Gone were the days where you spent running the halls of the keep, laughing and stumbling as you both stole treats from the kitchens. Practice swords were replaced with steel. Happiness was overshadowed by sorrow. He stood tall and rigid, one hand clamped around the pommel of his sword. "I will only ask this once, and you will answer me true," he said, "what role did you play in this?”
