you never saw a lot in rafe. he had a shitty reputation and you didn’t want that following you around. but it happened anyway. rafe started catching feelings for you after midsummers. that white dress with cleavage dragged him in. you meant to make topper notice you. not rafe. instead that night, you were dealt with topper and sarah making out in the corner, and rafe sneaking dirty whispers behind you everywhere you went.
rafe wasn’t the kind of guy you were looking for.. but he was so obsessed with you. he’s never done this with any girl. even the ones he’s hooked up with. he’d text you every chance he could. try to make you laugh with a funny tiktok. he never was the type of guy to be romantic. but for you. you seemed like the one.
it was another day of waking up to his sweet, yet extremely repetitive and annoying messages. you felt bad to leave him on delivered, but you had to, to make him let go. he texts you “check ur front porch” great.
i sigh and hop up from my bed, treading down the stairs and peeking through the peep hole of the front door, he wasn’t there. i unlock the front door, carefully peering it open.
flowers. tons of them.
there’s a huge bouquet with your favorite colors, every single flower fully in bloom with bright colors. a small paper note is attached on the vase. i bend down, grabbing the flowers and setting them on the kitchen table.
after admiring the flowers for who knows how long there’s another text from rafe “check again” i let out a soft chuckle before re opening the front door.
cookies?? what the hell is going on?
i grab my phone and type “these better not be drugged”
rafe replies “you know i wouldn’t do that. try one”
i pick up the cookies and head back to the kitchen. why was rafe doing this?? he’s never done this for anyone
opening the lid of the tupperware, i grab a cookie and take a bite. and oh. my. god.
“these are delicious” i send
“told you” he replies “did you check the note?”
“not yet, i will now” i reply, setting down my phone. i check the note
”will you be my girlfriend?” the note reads, with his sweet, yet messy handwriting.
i feel myself crack a smile and check my phone. before i can reply he texts, again
“so… will you? i’ve got one more gift if you say yes” he sends
