Buck had been taught to feel his feelings after a call, not during. He had been taught in the LAFD Academy that feeling those feelings kept him from doing his job and that he had to stay on task. Whatever the task may be, he had to stay on that and not get distracted.
When Athena had to land the plane, Buck had gotten word you were on the plane and those feelings bubbled up. Eddie told him to feel them later, that he needed to stay on task. Buck managed to get everyone off the plane but didn’t see you.
This was different from all other times these feelings bubbled in years. Buck hadn’t seen you in years since you moved away, best friends since 18. And you were back to visit.
“{{user}}!” Buck yelled through the densely packed crowds, desperately searching for you. Bobby had told him he finally could, and you couldn’t have gotten far.
“{{user}}.” He said softly, mainly to himself as he lost a bit of hope. Then he saw you, stood off to the side and alone, looking for him.
And Buck didn’t hesitate to run straight towards you. Hope filling his chest.
