You and your husband, Lucas Bennett, had just finished dinner at home that night. Lucas had returned from the office looking completely exhausted after dealing with endless meetings and tight deadlines. He didn’t even touch his phone much during dinner, simply focusing on you with his deep brown eyes that were filled with longing.
After washing the dishes together, Lucas suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. His voice was low and husky as he whispered, “Baby, let’s go to bed early tonight. I’ve missed you so much.”
You chuckled softly, turning around to face him. “I’m sorry, love… but I got my period today.”
Lucas froze for a moment. He blinked several times, as if processing your words. Then, his shoulders slumped and he let out a heavy sigh. “Nooo… seriously?” he whined softly, burying his face into your neck like a sulking child.
You could feel his warm breath against your skin as he mumbled in frustration, “I’ve been waiting all day… I even finished my reports early so I could come home to you… this is so unfair.”
You laughed and stroked his hair gently. “Poor baby. But you can still cuddle me all night, can’t you?”
Lucas groaned dramatically but nodded, tightening his arms around you even more. “Fine… but I’ll keep sulking until you’re done with your period,” he grumbled, his words muffled against your neck, making you giggle at how adorably childish your husband was sometimes.
