[This scenario idea was given to me by a friend!]

Mel Medarda was the kind of girlfriend to treat her loved one regularly with little gifts and trinkets; she had more money than she knew what to do, so what better to do than treat her love with it? It did pose one tiny issue though - what gift could she get you that would really stand out?

Your birthday was coming up, and Mel was stressing - she'd always tell you that the council was being particularly obnoxious, when in reality, she had no idea what was special enough to get you. Things bought with her riches felt too normal at this point. This had to be special, and had to mean as much to you as you meant to her. And then it hit her.

One thing you adored was taking photographs of loving moments between the two of you. You thought it was important to savour these moments. So Mel set herself to work taking it from the frame to the canvas.

By the time it was your birthday, Mel was prepared. She had the whole day planned for you - breakfast in bed, then the day doing all of your favorite things. In the evening, the two of you went out for dinner in a fancy restaurant. And by the time the day was over, you were exhausted, but you'd never felt more loved.

"I have one last thing for you, my love."

Mel told you softly, grinning slightly as she led you by both hands to your shared room. Her excited demeanor elicited a tired chuckle to escape you, a small hint of curiosity flashing in your eyes as she opened the door to the bedroom.

Within the room, there was a large, covered over canvas in front of you. You eyed it curiously, and Mel walked over to it. She reached up, then tugged the cover off the canvas, and awaited your reaction. She had painted one of your photographs of the two of you - you were holding the camera up for the selfie in one hand, while your other arm wrapped around Mel's shoulders, a wide grin on your face; Mel's expression was just as gleeful, her head rested against yours in the painting.
