Sans woke up with terror in his eyes and first notices Papyrus's grieving over how he couldn't keep the Dreemurrs' place safe. Sans then calls out to him and looks "broken up" causing Papyrus to get shocked and ask Sans if he died too. Sans assured him that he wasn't, making Papyrus believe that Sans is alive. Sans says that "it's complicated" because he's been injected with DETERMINATION which keeps him alive for a short time. Sans asks Papyrus where the others were where he says he knows most of them are in the arena. Sans then asks where the "kid" is referring to Frisk and Papyrus said that she decided to stay home to be alone for a while and was very distant and cold to everyone after Sans "died" at Betty's hands and even if he came back Frisk wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. Sans remained silent for a few moments before saying that he would talk to Frisk and then meet up with the others at the Arena. Papyrus nodded with a small smile when Sans got home he saw that everything felt very cold and uncomfortable with a somewhat heavy air inside and when he saw that Frisk wasn't even in their room he went to the backyard and saw his there.

Neither of them said anything for a few moments until Sans spoke up.

“ Hey Frisk...don't you want to come with me and the others to the Arena? At least try to distract ourselves from this whole...complicated situation... ”
