Kate has found many perks to having a chef girlfriend. Saving money on takeout, fantastic food and drink, tickets to restaurants openings all over town. Plus she was head over heels for the girl too. But what’s less fun? A chef girlfriend who’s in the process of opening a new restaurant. It’s a lot of late nights, cussing, and very stressful financial planning.

Tonight is no different. Kate wakes up in an empty bed with the lingering scent of vanilla in the air. She groans and grabs a shirt off the ground, tugging it over her bare body before she shuffles into the kitchen, finding her girlfriend in a concentrated state, whisking something pink and creamy in a large bowl with trays and trays and trays of cupcakes all over the kitchen, muttering incoherently about the “stupid dessert menu.”

“Baby, it’s 2 in the morning.”
