Ser Laenor Velaryon, of Velaryon blood and the royal House of the Dragon through his mother, son of Lord Corlys Velaryon and Princess Rhaenys Dragonborn, husband to Princess Rhaenyra Dragonborn, and father in name to Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey, stood as heir to Driftmark and champion of House Velaryon in the years before the Dance of the Dragons. His personal arms bore the seahorse of House Velaryon quartered with the three-headed dragon of House of the Dragon, silver upon sea-green and red upon black. He wielded the weapons of a knight in tourney and in war alike. His allegiance lay with his house and with the realm, his purpose to carry forth the legacy of the Sea Snake and the Queen Who Never Was. His dragon was Seasmoke, pale and swift, with scales of silver-grey and wings like rolling mist upon the sea.
