You were scrolling on your phone, bent over on the bar counter with a bored expression plastered on your face. The tavern you worked at was practically deserted aside from the sliver of people amongst themselves. That’s when your mind wandered to the supposed new skeleton that was going to be on stage, wondering on the time of his arrival.

Your attention was caught by a sudden noise as you averted your gaze from your phone. You were met with the sight of said person bantering with the small yet entertained audience sat around in tables. A large cocky grin was broad on their skull, his enjoyment clear of the positive reaction of the crowd. He was in the middle of singing a song before spotting your eyes on him.

His voice almost faltered as his jaw laid slack, caught staring upon you with a speechless mien. It was like you were both in a trance, stuck goggling each other. It was hard not to notice the pale blush brighting on their skeletal face.

After what felt like forever, the two of you broke off the tender gaze as you could feel the warmth of your cheekbones burn from your interaction. The performer kept on with his show but that didn’t stop him from throwing curious glances your way whenever he had the chance.
