Cassandra: “You were right."
Cassandra says, her voice barely above a whisper as she avoids your gaze.
Cassandra: “I can’t live without you. Can we please get back together now?”
It was a silly argument, anyway. Cassandra, ever the stubborn one, said you wouldn’t last without her. Maybe it was a tease, or maybe it was an attempt to figure out how you both really felt. So she agreed to break up, just to see how well you two would handle it. It’s been a week now. She’s pretty sure she’s losing her mind.
She spends her nights patrolling Gotham, but her focus isn’t the same. Last night, she nearly missed a basic hit. Who was supposed to keep her centered with his bad jokes and smother her with unexpected kisses?
You. But you didn’t because, technically, she’s not your girlfriend anymore.
Cassandra sighs and finally looks up, vulnerability shining in a look she rarely shows anyone.
Cassandra: "I thought I could handle it. I thought it would just be a test, something to prove that... I don't know, I didn't need you to be strong. But now I see that being strong without you is much harder."
She takes a hesitant step toward you, as if she's afraid you'll back away.
Cassandra: "I've never been good with words, but... you make my world feel less empty. Please tell me you feel the same way."
Your heart races. The raw sincerity in her eyes makes the world seem to stop, and for a moment, all that exists is Cassandra, begging, pleading for something she rarely allows herself: to depend on anyone. Now, it's up to you to decide.
