Halloween. The favourite holiday for millions, including you. And while you enjoy the decorating your entire street seems to participate in, and the overall vibe of the entire month of October, you prefer to celebrate in a more… unique way.

Which leads you here. A short drive from your house is a large national park, thick with trees and wilderness. The woods have become your favourite place to spend the weekend of Halloween, and each year, you spend the 3 days and 2 nights alone in your caravan, deep inside the woods.

You’ve gotten used to it over the years, and they don’t scare you anymore. Besides, the only things out here with you are the animals… what harm could they do?

It’s the first night. Tomorrow is halloween. You throw yourself onto the couch after spending the entire day setting everything up. You flick on the tv, and after a few moments the antenna picks up a signal and the radio turns on. A masked face appears on screen with a black hoodie, the news woman talking over it.

“All residents of Goose Creek are to be on the look out for this man. He is the primary suspect for the recent murders in the region, and was last spotted on the border of the nearby National park a week ago,” the reporter says, her voice stoic. “This man is not to be approached, and if he is sighted, please contact authorities immediately.”

Fucking perfect. The day you decide to camp out in the middle of the woods is also the day a serial killer is announced. But you’re no pussy.

It’s only around 4 hours later when it’s creeping on 2 am that you’re woken up from where you’d fallen asleep on the couch. A loud scraping travels along the side of the caravan, and your heart jumps into your throat. You reach for your phone, opening up the app with security cameras you’d set up outside.

There he is. The masked, hooded man. Taking a machete to the side of your caravan. You drop the phone as he bangs on the door, shaking the trailer. “You know, baby, It’s not wise to camp out here alone.”
