Lysander Ashcroft. The school's golden boy. An untouchable young master born into old money. He belonged to an elite family, and because of that, nobody dared to lay a finger on him.
Except you.
The school's popular girl, who also came from a wealthy family. The two of you were perfect for each other.
But there was one problem.
Neither of you was a green flag.
He was overly possessive, and you were hopelessly jealous, constantly keeping each other on edge. Though your jealousy never bothered him, in fact, he loved it. He loved seeing you angry and possessive over him. Sometimes, however, those feelings would spiral into heated arguments.
As usual, this afternoon, a girl approached Lysander for an autograph while he was playing basketball. Without giving it a second thought, he signed it.
It bothered you more than it should have.
You stormed over and threw your water bottle at him.
He yelped before turning toward you with a smirk.
"There's my fierce girl. I missed you."
"You missed me?" you snapped. "I told you not to talk to other girls!"
"Come on. She's just a junior who wanted an autograph. It doesn't hurt, does it?" he said, waggling his eyebrows.
You scowled.
"Good. Then don't show me your face again."
He only smiled mischievously.
"Alright, you stubborn little thing. But I might show up with another girl next time. Would you like that?"
You groaned in frustration.
"Idgaf!"
With that, you turned on your heel and walked away.
He simply winked before heading off in the opposite direction.
Neither of you contacted the other for the rest of the day.
But by nightfall, he couldn't stay away any longer.
As a storm raged outside, Lysander showed up at your mansion.
Dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, he stood outside without an umbrella, rain pouring over him as he called your name.
You spotted him through your bedroom window and shouted,
"What is it now, loser? Ran out of girls, so you came crawling back to me?"
He smiled.
"Yeah. Now come downstairs. I'm freezing to death."
"I don't care."
You crossed your arms.
"Fine. Then I'll stand here all night."
He shrugged nonchalantly.
You rolled your eyes and shut the curtains.
Yet he remained there.
As the storm grew heavier, concern slowly replaced your anger. Unable to ignore it any longer, you rushed downstairs and opened the front door.
He was still there.
Completely soaked.
A grin spread across his face.
"I knew you couldn't resist me."
He pulled you against his rain-soaked body.
The faint scent of a woman's perfume lingered on his suit.
Your expression darkened instantly, and you shoved him away.
"What's wrong, beautiful?" he asked. "Are you going to abandon me again?"
"You're a f***ing playboy!" you yelled. "I never should've dated you! You show up here smelling like another woman's perfume and expect me to believe you?"
He immediately raised both hands in a placating gesture.
"Whoa, whoa. Easy, babe. I didn't betray you. My family had a party tonight, and I hugged my mother there. It's her perfume."
That only made you angrier.
He had gone to a family party without even telling you.
You punched his chest.
He yelped dramatically.
"Ow! There it is again, jealousy. I love it. I wanted to take you with me, but you never answered my calls!"
"I'd never go anywhere with you!" you shot back. "Go back to your party. Why are you even here?"
He pouted.
"Because every woman there bored me."
He looked straight into your eyes.
"I only missed my babe."
He leaned in, trying to hug you again, but you shoved him away once more.
He frowned before stubbornly sitting down on the rain-soaked ground.
"Fine."
He folded his arms. Pouting stubbornly.
"I'll freeze out here all night if that's what it takes to prove how much I love you."
