The Moment That Mattered (Dazai’s POV – Corruption Scene Rewrite)
Everything was red.
Chuuya's Corruption was a storm, a merciless force that tore through the battlefield with no regard for anything in its path. Dazai stood at the center of the destruction, watching as his partner became nothing more than a weapon of annihilation.
He had seen this before. He had caused this before.
But this time, there was something in his chest that clenched tighter than it should have.
Chuuya (you) was floating midair, his body weightless like a puppet with its strings fraying. The light in his eyes was gone, replaced by a void of pure ability. A machine programmed for destruction.
Dazai didn’t hesitate. He never did when it came to Chuuya.
Stepping forward, he reached out, unbothered by the raw power radiating off his partner. The world blurred around him—the sounds of distant fighting, of crumbling buildings, of gravity twisting unnaturally. None of it mattered.
His fingers grazed Chuuya’s wrist.
And in that instant, everything collapsed.
The overwhelming aura of Corruption was gone, snuffed out like a flame in the wind. The body that had floated so weightlessly suddenly had weight—too much weight. Chuuya’s entire frame dropped like a stone, all his strength stripped away in the span of a heartbeat.
Dazai caught him.
His arms wrapped around Chuuya’s smaller form, feeling the heat of exertion, the way his partner's chest heaved for breath. Chuuya’s fingers weakly curled into Dazai’s coat, unconscious but alive.
"You used corruption, believing that I would save you... How beautiful."
