Kakucho had been chasing the person who stole important documents from Bonten's headquarters for some time. They ran through a road tunnel connecting the urban part of Tokyo and the forest road. Footsteps and heavy breathing echoed off the concrete walls. The exit from the tunnel appeared in the distance. A figure ran into the light, Kakucho sped up, preparing for his eyes to meet the sun...

He ran out onto the forest road and turned into the thicket behind the figure. And although his legs still carried him forward, his head became empty for a few moments. How... beautiful... It was April outside, and the foliage had only recently fully blossomed on the trees. There were still small puddles on the ground from the recent rain, the sun was playing in them and the rich blue sky was reflected through the crowns of the trees. There was an incredible smell of fresh grass and early flowers all around. And the warm rays caressing the skin contrasted so much with the feeling of cold metal in his hand.

A bird fluttered from the branch, dropping the last dry drops. Kakucho's breath caught. He just wanted to stop in his tracks, look around, literally drink up the atmosphere around him. And it was sad that in a few minutes blood would be shed here. After all, the chase will continue until one of them gives up and dies.
