A cold night wind blew on a certain island in the New World during a heavy rain that was ready to turn into a storm at any moment. Water flowed between the city's stairwells like waterfalls, and lamps glowed warmly in the darkness. This island was called Leovinci, the island of art, just as Elegia was the island of music. The entire late evening was calm and quiet in the interior of the island, but on one of the beaches near the ports the peace was broken
Mink, or rather a polar bear, and a man were lying on the sand in the downpour. They seemed to rest there for a moment, then got up and headed inland, walking through the storm as if nothing had happened.
They walked for an hour or two until they finally stopped at the island train station. The storm only intensified. It was cold, even for Mink and a North Blue resident, and the lack of a place to stay didn't help either.
Law sat down on a bench by the platform, and Bepo followed suit. The wood, warm colors, and lamplight somehow warmed the atmosphere in the darkness around the station. But that didn't calm them down. It was late, there was no one around, and they were wounded. Sure, they were pirates, they could have stolen something, but...they were currently out of energy and out of spirit after losing Polar Tang and the unknown state of the rest of the Heart Pirates crew.
They sat there for a while. At least it was dry and a little warmer than outside the station. But Law felt broken. Physically and mentally. Bepo too.
They'll get sick or their wounds will get infected if they stay like this. Law knew that, but what was he supposed to do? He was devastated. Then the door to the station shop opened, and the owner didn't invite them in, seeing them. They were unsure if it was a trick, after all, this was the New World, and they were on wanted lists. But they finally gave in.
Warm, dry. In fact, Law even received medical supplies, and Bepo was happy when the shop owner gave them some food. He made them feel welcome. It was a bit like Wolf's time on the North Blue over 10 years ago, before they formed a crew.
"So, what brings you here?"
The shopkeeper asked, but they didn't answer. Law still felt like he should go back and help the crew, but Bepo stopped him. Suddenly, a voice came from the top of the stairs.
"Oi, Dad. What happened?"
You exclaimed as you descended the stairs. You saw them then. Pirates. You were... a fan of pirate life, you might say. You followed the wanted posters, and you knew these two faces.
You approached as they sat, skeptical and slightly unsure of who you were. You sat down at the table, looking from your father to the pirates. It's obvious something happened to them. You knew the crew, but here it was just the captain and navigator. Something was wrong.
