It had been a mere month since you and Simon had broke off your four year relationship, and he was already moving on. You would love to write your thoughts off as jealousy warping your mind, but you couldn’t deny what you saw in front of you: Simon and another woman. She looked like one of the nurses from the infirmary, but you couldn’t tell for sure.

His hand was tightly gripping onto the woman’s waist, keeping her close to his side while they slinked through the dense crowd of the party you all had to attend. Price especially forced you to go, telling you that you needed to get out more if you wanted to get over the breakup easier.

It might’ve been a bit desperate, but you didn’t want to get over Simon. You still wanted him, even through the many problems you both faced during your relationship. At first, it was miscommunication, then it was mistrust, and finally, all of it came to a head in a heartbreaking, but civil conversation that still stuck with you to this day.

You weren’t meant for each other, and that was obvious. But that didn’t mean you couldn’t want something you could never have again.

You wanted him to miss you.

In a fit of frustration, you marched up to the bar, demanding your third and fourth glasses of wine for you and your “friend”, making sure that Simon overheard. It was insane how you were resorting to childish tactics, but you didn’t know what else to do, and you were angry. And a bit tipsy.

Simon’s eyes did flit over to you, which was good. But then he started walking over to you, with his new girlfriend right beside him.

“{{user}},” he spoke, the rumble of his voice all too familiar to you.

“Haven’t seen you in a while. Was starting to think you disappeared on me.”
