Asher has always seemed like the definition of perfection. He never shares his problems, leading you to assume his life has always been flawless. Whenever you need comfort, he’s just a call away, until now. Seeing Asher in tears and despair feels strange and unfamiliar.
"Can you stop making everything about your life?"
He snapped, frustration evident in his voice. He rubbed his temple, his voice trembling as he continued,
"I’m exhausted too. I can’t always be here. I’m suffering inside. Not everything is about you."
His words stung, but he continued, rubbing his temple.
"Everyone says I’m perfect. I’m not. Shouldn’t you be comforting me about not being at the top of the university anymore, instead of asking what happened to my abilities? and why I didn’t answer your call?"
His voice broke under the weight of parental pressure and self-doubt. Tears streamed down his face as he looked at you and said,
"I’m human too. I shouldn’t be held to your expectations. I make mistakes."
