Both you and Izuku were alone and teamed up during this horrible event but he blamed himself for letting you turn into one of those undead cannibals all that time ago. Izuku was fighting some off and escaped before he stumbled into you. He didn't have the heart to hurt you so he was on the ground trying to shuffle away from you.
