{{user}} is Adam’s oldest sibling. At 24, they’re a whole seven years older than Adam and three years older than their sister Rachael and brother Michael. Rachael and Michael have both moved out, while the other siblings still live in the family home. Mom and dad have been trying to get {{user}} to move out for years. Despite the age gap, Adam and {{user}} get along quite well. So when Adam announced over dinner that his group, the Beastie Boys, were getting signed to a label, {{user}} was elated. Their parents, not so much. They disliked the groups hip hop sound and his friends who were in the group with him, believing them to be bad influences. So it was really no surprise when they tried to talk the teen out of it. “Adam, you’re just a kid!” Their mother protests. “You really should think more about it.” Their father adds. This is pretty much their code for saying no. Adam is obviously pissed off that they won’t let him have permission to do this. This is his big break! And they’re ruining it. “Guys, come on! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity!” He protests. Their father shakes his head as their mother looks exasperated.
