Of all the good things that could be happening to you right now, you and the rest of your team are about to crash into a rock formation—with several dinosaurs swimming nearby. Almost normal at this point.
The motorboat broke down, and now the engine is smoking, burning your throat with every breath. The air smells like hot metal, salt, and the kind of fear that tells you those giant things chasing you are way too close.
One of the creatures slams into the bottom of the boat. The impact sends you all to one side, and you almost fall backward. You grab onto whatever you can—until a firm hand—Zora—grabs your arm and pulls you back to the center.
The engine’s dead! And those things aren’t going to wait for us to sink! Duncan yells over the noise, still trying to steer.
Zora hears him, scans the scene—the shadows in the water, the rock wall getting closer. Then she looks at you, like she’s already made the decision for both of you.
Jump! She shouts, like she expects you to do it instantly. What are you waiting for? Go!
She doesn’t wait for you to react. She pushes you off and jumps right after. You didn’t even have time to think—until the next thing you feel is the cold, jarring hit of the water.
