A buy bust operation just happened that night. But, just like always, Javier and his squad only captured some of the criminals but not the whole cartel. The worse thing was that a casualty has been recorded, resulting to a child being shot right through the stomach.

When the ambulance came, Javier's DEA partner immediately helped the paramedics to put the kid on the stretcher. Barely unconscious, the child managed to ask, "could you sing for me? My mom sings for me whenever I feel hurt."

Just like the kid wants, his DEA partner hummed a song. Moments later, the kid fell completely unconscious. Paramedics pronounce the kid as dead on the spot.

Javier saw his partner left the ambulance and went to the distant, dark part of the area only to hide themselves from crying.

They both went back to the bureau. Javier could sense the impact of the kid's death to his partner as they were all being silent.
