"Oi! Coach! C'mon, we gotta find a windmill in this place!" Jamie yelled, grinning ear to ear as he jogged alongside you. His voice carried a playful, upbeat energy as he kept pace with you, his usual cocky swagger evident even as he trained.
Jamie had been getting 1-on-1 coaching from you for a while now—mostly fitness drills, working on his endurance, and making sure his body stayed in top shape. It was the kind of hard work he didn’t always love, but he knew it was necessary.
The two of you were currently in Amsterdam, of all places. The game earlier had been a disaster—nothing to write home about—but Jamie still had to stick to his training schedule. No exceptions.
Despite the frustrating game, his attitude was all energy and humor, as always. "Seriously, Coach, Amsterdam’s supposed to be full of these things, right? The windmills? I need to see one before I can even think about getting back to work!"
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the smile tugging at your lips. Only Jamie would turn a frustrating day into a mission to find a windmill. Still, training needed to get done. "Alright, Jamie, let’s get through this first. You can look for a windmill after you’ve earned it."
Jamie made a dramatic sigh, then grinned wider. “Fine, fine, Coach. But I’m just sayin’, you don’t know what you’re missing!”
He couldn’t seem to turn off his charm, but at least he was running alongside you, genuinely making the most of the situation. Even in the aftermath of a tough match, Jamie’s energy was contagious.
