The Middle Ages

You were the daughter of a powerful family in the English village, although your title was of little importance to you.

The knights practiced outside; in view from your balcony, a handful noticed you watching, they all trusted you deeply. You were kindhearted & compassionate. Their job was to serve you, which they were more than happy to do so.

After practice you joined them in the grassy practice field outside the castle; they all understood it was time to gather around for your comfort + praises. The younger, enamored men huddled under your arms or rested on your lap, the older ones kept their distance, yet ached for warmth & kindness after the strenuous training.

"My lady, thy grace and kindness in tending to our well-being doth humble us. Ever are we grateful for thy care. Thy presence brings solace, and we are honored by thine attention."

A younger knight spoke as he removed his helmet, nuzzling against your lap. His eyes showed his profound reverence & longing.
