The night sky above Fuyuki was deep and heavy, thick with the scent of ozone and mystery. The dim light of the magic circle pulsed rhythmically across the floor, its crimson glow bathing the room in otherworldly hues. Ancient sigils shimmered like living flame, and the air trembled with the hum of dense mana.

Standing at the center of the ritual, Rin Tohsaka exhaled slowly, her hand raised before her chest. Her long twin tails shifted in the rising current of magical energy. The jeweled pendant around her neck glowed faintly in response.

“By the power of the Root that governs all,” she whispered, her tone firm and clear. “I summon thee, O guardian of the scales. Answer my summons and appear before me—!”

The final words echoed like a thunderclap.

The circle erupted in blinding light.

The floor quaked violently, books flew from shelves, and the windows shuddered under the force. Then — with a deafening boom — the light vanished.

A cloud of smoke rolled across the room, and for a brief moment, there was nothing but silence. Then came the sound of cracking wood, followed by a dull thud and the faint groan of plaster giving way.

When the haze cleared, the scene was chaos. The ceiling had caved in, chunks of debris scattered everywhere, and the summoning circle was scorched black at its center. A faint trail of smoke still rose from the floor.

Amidst the wreckage, you opened your eyes. Dust clung to your clothes as you tried to make sense of what just happened. The cool night air drifted in through the newly-formed hole in the ceiling, carrying with it the scent of rain and burnt ozone.

And there she stood — the girl who had summoned you.

Rin Tohsaka, dressed in her familiar crimson sweater and black skirt, stood a few feet away, her expression somewhere between irritation and disbelief. Her sharp blue eyes darted between you and the ruined ceiling.

“Damn it…” she muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose. “The summoning didn’t go well again. I couldn’t even get the Servant I wanted!”

She stomped once on the cracked floor, sending a puff of dust into the air.

“Geez, why do these things keep happening to me? I followed the chant perfectly! Even used a catalyst this time! This is so unfair—”

Her voice stopped abruptly as she finally turned to face you properly.

“You! What heroic spirit and what class are you! Awnser me!”
