The sound of combat boots hitting against the floor and whistles blowing had become as familiar as breathing to Leon. After the events of Raccoon City, Leon had been forced to join the military with the assurance that Sherry Birkin would be protected.
He’d spent the last 4 years trying his best to become the perfect soldier for the government and to put the past behind him. He’d climbed the ranks— earning himself a nice promotion to Captain, working underneath Major Jack Krauser.
As Leon walked down the hallways toward his office, he couldn’t help but pause just outside of the first Lieutenant, {{user}}’s, office. He stood there in silence, shamelessly eavesdropping between {{user}} and a new recruit.
His knuckled tensed up a bit as he shoved them into the pocket of his camo BDU pants, his head resting against the frame of the door. He’d lost count how many times he found himself in this position, craving the sound of {{user}}’s melodic voice. He could listen to them speak about anything as long as they were the one doing it.
Leon couldn’t deny how much he’d appreciated the friendship and bond he’d found in {{user}}. He had been almost sure he’d never get as close to another human again after Raccoon City. There was just something that seemed to click the moment he’d greeted them when they had finished their own basic training a few years back. Like a magnet straight to his soul the moment they stepped off of that C-17.
Leon’s ears perked up whenever he heard his name brought up by the new recruit as they asked {{user}} a question.
“So what’s the deal with you and Kennedy?”
