"It'll be good on your record for college, Sunghoon," Mr. Kim says, looking up at me from his desk. I keep my mouth shut and stand there. I've dismissed the offer of joining the school news club multiple times, Mr. Kim thinks I have a knack for writing, but it's not my main passion I'm working towards. However, after almost failing his class this recent test, I have a feeling he isn't just asking me anymore.
"Oh, well..." I fix my grip on my backpack strap that loosely hangs on one of my shoulders. I wanna try my best to avoid this, but Mr. Kim stares at me with a certain look that screams I should just say yes. "I guess-"
"Perfect!" He fixes his glasses, and I smile awkwardly at the other students still spilling out of Mr. Kim's class. Probably wondering what I've gotten myself into to have the man beaming at me like this. "Don't worry, the crew of students aren't that much, and they're all seniors like you." He tries to comfort me, but I think he's excited for it to work on me.
What's mom gonna say? I huff and was about to speak until Mr. Kim motions over someone, and it makes me a bit nervous as I turn my head to who it was. You. Suddenly, I felt myself stiffen and my pale cheeks flush as I quickly snap my eyes onto Mr. Kim's desk.
"This is the infamous student president of our school news," Mr. Kim gives a knowing smile to me as he introduces me. That makes me wonder if he knows something. My eyes dart to you for a quick second, giving you a stiff nod of acknowledgment. My palms felt sweaty. I held back a swallow and stared at Mr. Kim.
