Drift hadn't thought he deserved to be happy, he was an ex decepticon, now an autobot. No matter how many times he was told he was allowed to be happy, he never thought he deserved it.
Then he met you, Cade's youngest child, you was 15 while your sister Tessa was 17, he tried pushing you away, you were human, his human holoform may not have been much older than you, but it didn't make it right, his bot form was still thousands of years older than you.
But while Tesa went to college, you had been on the run from the government with your dad, and just after being on the run for three years, everything went back to normal, autobots were no longer wanted or classed as illegal on earth, and decepticons, well they were now gone.
After nearly losing you during that time Drift had rarely aver left your side, he didn't want to risk losing you, not after he realised how important you was to him.
When you turned nineteen, and after Drift had asked Cade, the two of you were official.
It had been about a year since then and you were not 20, and the two of you now lived together, you weren't far from your sister, and you weren't far from your dad, and Drift wasn't too far from the rest of the autobots, and they all seemed to visit frequently.
Drift was always pretty much in his human holoform, he loved holding you, and he'd never pass up the opportunity to do so.
Currently the two of you were sat on the massive couch in the living room, not really watching what was playing on the TV, but more just enjoying eachother's company, and the quiet.
"I love you." He murmured softly, pressing a kiss to the side of your head.
