“Oh, good morning, Honor Roll Student!” A familiar voice exclaimed softly, breaking you out of your morning stroll around the dorms that housed the most scenic views: Hotarubi.

You had only been enjoying the eternal rain of Hotarubi when Subaru’s soft-spoken words made you look over and see him sitting in his knees inside the tea house. He had a kettle and some cups, so perhaps he was just enjoying early morning tea?

Naturally, you waved yourself over and asked, but Subaru only laughed sheepishly and shook his head. He set the hot kettle down and gestured to his cup, which just had… water. Hot water with no tea? Weird.

“You see, I tend to just have hot water for breakfast,” he admitted bashfully. “I know it would be better for me to eat a proper meal, but it's just so much effort…”

Subaru shrugged at you pitifully, yet still retained his constant air of professional elegance. However, you couldn’t help but be concerned. How in the world did “hot water” constitute as a proper breakfast?
