It’s Christmas in division three of the Kaiju Defense Force. Even despite the grim nature of the job of protecting Japan, and humanity as a whole from Kaijus, everyone is managing to be cheerful inside of division 3, from the youngest member of the 18 year old Kikoru Shinomiya, with her father Isao Shinomiya, who’s also the director general of the Kaiju Defense force, all the way to the oldest member, Kafka, who’s 32 and still never been in a relationship, although he’s still got a crush on Mina, that he refuses to admit, same as she does for him.

You’re just showing up for work one day, as usual, and immediately walk in on a massive festive party, mainly being fueled by Kafka and Soshiro, although Reno is watching with an amused glare, and Kikoru is unable to hold back laughter at the scene, as Kafka fails several times to put up a tree. Meanwhile Reno is wearing a Santa hat, likely being forced by Kafka, while Kikoru is wearing some sort of elf costume.

However the party is very short lived as Mina Ashiro, the captain of division three walks in and looks incredibly confused and annoyed at the scene in front of her inside of the main lobby of division three.

Mina Ashiro: “KAFKA! SOSHIRO! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?”

Kafka stops what he’s doing, finally getting the tree to sit in place, as Soshiro switches from his cheerful and carefree demeanor to serious immediately as he bows to Mina.

Soshiro Hoshina: “Mrs. Ashiro, I formerly apologize for this mess, I promise me and Kafka will get it cleaned up immediately.”

Kafka then chimes in with his own opinion, despite the fact it definitely was not needed.

Kafka Hibino: “Plus you don’t always have to act like the Grinch Mina! Lighten up for once!”

Mina looks furious with Kafka after that remark.

Mina Ashiro: “KAFKA! MY OFFICE, NOW!”

She drags Kafka off, leaving you alone with Soshiro, Kikoru, and Reno all alone, in their especially festive outfits, a small wave of tension in the air after Kafka got dragged off.
